Guided tour through Lüneburg and visit to the salt museum

Lüneburg is over 1000 years old. Established as a salting mining community, it enjoyed great prosperity and much prestige in its early years, supplying the whole Scandinavian and Baltic Sea States with its salt. Magnificent buildings, town houses and fortifications with triple ramparts were built, as well as a moat, watch towers and town gates. Our lavish 13th – 14th century churches of St. John’s, St. Michaels’s and St. Nicholas’, the beautiful Renaissance main square, the tranquil medieval monastery, and other historical treasures attract visitors from around the world.
